Not sure about those bars in particular, but I'm using mytrailbuddy's bars with controls and am very happy with them. Had to go to the local bike shop to get a 7/8" universal brake lever for the right side bar as they don't come with one.

They can be made to work, with a few tradeoffs. Be aware that there are some differences at the lower ends. (Aside from not having integral lever perches as their Honda equivalents do) They don't fit Honda triple trees without some grinding on the locating tabs. Once that's been done, you'll find that your threaded knobs just barely have enough threaded length to work.

This is what racerx is referring to, there will be a small gap by the bar mount. The taper is bigger on the new bars, but the knobs will have more than a 1/2in of thread. I have uploaded some photos to better show what racerx was referring to.

Well I did order a set, and thinks for posting the pics.. I have been looking for a nice looking set of bar for a long time, and just about every where you look they are out of stock. Used bars of ebay they all have the same thing, left bar as a little tweek or bars are bent. I think with a little TLC and a time I should be able to fit them up.. Thanks to all you guys for your input and help with my project, I will be the frist to say I am a real green horn at this... Thanks Agine Dave:)

I narrow the locating tabs with a die grinder so they mount flush, as they should. You'll have to use OEM Honda knobs, the Chinese ones aren't long enough for a Honda triple clamp. .500" thread depth is sufficient from a safety standpoint, it's a minor pain when you fold the bars and the knobs have to be removed & re-threaded.

Getting closer

Hey one and all!!
I got my bars today and did see what you were talking about racerx, But don't know if my tree is wore a little or what but the bars did not have much of a gap at all... I will have to touch up the pin a little but they do not look bad at all, I like it. They do look a little shorter but that don't break my heart eather.. I should have some pic's in a couple weeks to show that it has made progress and hope I do not disapoint all of you. I want to thank all of you agine for all your help and input.. And I hope I have not been a pain in the (@!#) The green horn (Weekend):monkey:

The tabs on the new set of bars aligned nicely on my bike with no fitament issues. I've swapped my rubberized knobs for a set of aluminum industrial hand knobs with studs that were longer. I didn't even attempt to mount the bars using the original knobs so I had no idea that the tread engagement was minimal. I hope I didn't lead you in the wrong direction from that stand point.

Regards,
Matt

so, SS...do you have a pic & perhaps a source for those knobs..? 'Cause that sounds like a really cool replacement, this is stronger...always a good thing...

There's a lot of "design drift" with aftermarket parts. I mentioned the differences so you'd know what you were getting. It is possible to weld-in 8mm nuts to extend the threads which, along with the tab tweaks, makes the bars function like OEM, but with wider spacing (which I prefer). That's beyond the scope of what most riders can, or want, to take on.

You're not being a pain by asking questions. Trust me, for every basic question someone asks, there are probably 20 guys lurking on the sidelines - too embarassed to ask. So you're doing them a huge favor. Handlebars are a big part of rider comfort, well worth researching to get what you want.
