Bikes That Aren't Worth A Look

...What the heck is this?
attachment.jpg

First off, it does come with an HK0 roller AND an hk0 'bike' both CBG (faded)… And some extra parts. it looks to be a $400 deal to me, if you're resourceful and can make the best of what's there.

Secondly, what CJ is referring to looks like a 'grab handle' of rudimentary nature. i like the idea. it sneaks under the taillight bracket, can be grabbed from either side, and if it were black, like it probably was 25 years ago, it would be relatively stealth. BUT… what does it attach to? that section of the frame isn't super strong to begin with. sure, stronger than the seat pan, but i've seen plenty of cracks in that area… including this one.

Well i guess that's not too bad. and, now looking at it, i guess you could bolt the handle to the taillight bracket bolts...

Lowered again to 1050.00

“ROUGH IN RESTORABLE CONDITION OR USE FOR PARTS”

Change the word restorable to "replaceable". The frame, engine case and a few other parts might be restorable but not worth much over $300.00, maybe.

This HK1 has definitely seen better days.lol. 795 smackers is WAY WAY to much for this butchered bike. Apparently they also butchered a '77 to get this bike to run.

NO TITLE WILL GIVE BILL OF SALE ONLY. This is a Barn Find 1972 Honda CT70H which is the RARE 4 spd clutch model. This however has a motor from a 1977 Honda CT70 3 spd auto engine #2600074. The motor is from the 73rd bike made for the 1977 model year. This is the Candy Yellow Special color. Needs a total restore as pictures show. This would be an easy one to restore with someone with a little know how (I'm not that person). This was ran several years ago at Carlisle PA car shows. Has not ran in years unsure what it needs. Tank was stored empty. Seat pan is pretty nice. Tires are junk. Key was lost. Please look at pictures and ask questions. I will not ship or haul anywhere. However I do have a couple shippers names from uship.com that are very reasonable that my buyers have used in the past. Ask me for there phone number if you would like it. You get shipping quotes and pay them direct. The only thing I will do with shipping is help load. You can see before bidding if you would like just shot me an email and I will give you my number. I will accept paypal, or cash if picking up. NO TITLE AND IT WAS NEVER IN MY NAME. I HAD TO PUT SOMETHING UNDER THE TITLE LINE BUT AGAIN NO TITLE. I will store for up to 8 weeks if paid in full in 7 days. I will be listing more Honda CT70H and CT70 frames and Honda Z50 frames. This is the most complete and best one I have. Check my other auctions.

Translation: A cobbled-together pile-o-shite that will need a ton of money, patience, and skilled labor...and still won't be worth what you'd have into it unless you can source an HK1 motor with an acceptable SN. The good pieces were cannibalized and sold for a decent amount, now looking for someone to haul this mess outta here and pay dearly for the privilege.

I dunno, I see one good `77 headlight ear (maybe Adam could use that), and a `77 speedo. They look okay but not quite worth $8C

In the words of our very own sidewinder:

Yeah, its a rare 4-speed clutch model, so rare that it doesn't actually include the 4-speed clutch part. So my question is this a 72 or a 77 model?

So they pull the front forks, tree & ears off a 77' and put's it on this POS trying to get ~ 8 bills? Those parts are the only things usable. Maybe he'll come to reality and just part it out... :3:

Looks like it's a 72 - 73 CYS HK1 frame, engine & forks are 77. No matching engine and poor shape --->sadly not even worth restoring. :17:

I think this is the roughest Z50 I have ever seen. I can't believe they want $450 for this nightmare. It really shows just how tough these bikes are to get to this point, but this one is REALLY awful.:rip:

Heavily worn CT-70 sold for parts. Engine still runs. Flat back tire, zip tied weed whacker gas tank, improvised ignition switch, heavily taped seat cushion, melted handle bar grips, no kickstand. Sold as is for parts or salvage.

I should have known this guy would have picked this up. This was the bike I was talking about in the CL post I made and was only $1500. I was so ready to pounce on it until I looked it over. It really does look good from a distance, it's just when you get in and take a real look you begin to see the true story behind it. It is so misrepresented hear I would hope none of the members would dare to buy it. Very cracked seat pan, fenders ,rims and other parts rattle canned silver in many areas to hide the rust. It does appear he cleaned the overspray off the valve stems or resprayed the rims. The bike did not have a chain guard on it so I believe that's a re-pop so no big deal their. Fenders are dinged up, pipe spray painted around collar to hide the rust. The frame is rusting through the paint on left side of the bike pretty severely. This was my biggest concern. Look at the pictures around the fork tubes and you will see. Spark plug wire is shredded a couple of inches after it comes out on f the frame. I told the guy to be careful because it looked like it could easily arc.The headlight inside the bucket is incorrect also. It appears the wrong tail light assembly that was on their has been replaced but I would imagine the 2 holes that were drilled in the rear fender are still there .Both tires were completely shot but it appears one was replaced. I just love the story about the waves and thumbs up all the time. If you notice the title is dated 9-14-16 and he was kind enough to post the previous owners information. $1500 bike yes if you want a rider but I wasn't willing to push this turd on someone just to make a few bucks.

Yes, it has received tons of waves in 4 days! 3 of the 4 were spent working on it for the flip. I noticed that before I read your post. The paint really does rust pop! All three shades...

I noticed that the flywheel cover has been replaced, but they forgot the top aircleaner mount bolt. Painting over the wheel bolts, axle hub seal, and valve stem is halfassing in my book. You can even make out that rust was painted over right on the edge of the rims where it was even halfassed masked off.

In this pic, it looks as though the painted over valvestem was intentionally hidden.

I'm glad you posted about this bike. It really does look okay on the pics. I would have been disappointed if I'd bought this one unless it was inexpensive for a full restore. I think the cylinder head has been replaced as well.

I can't believe this thing is up to 2475! Someone is going to be in for a rude awakening when it shows up on their doorstep. Or they might not even know any better.
