Thanks Kirrbby, when I bought it from you I told you I would do it up right or to at least to the best of my ability.. if I have to paint it and strip it down 10 times to get it right that’s what I’ll do!!! ( god I hope not) LOL. The vintage bike show I go to every year is featuring Japanese bikes this year so it’s on my list of lilhondas to bring..the show is April 20th so that should be plenty of time to get it painted and all put together and running. Merry Christmas everyone!!

I think it's pretty awesome that this bike is getting a new life. I think YOU know the story, but...
I'm pretty sure I bought the lower end first. The seller listed it on eBay for a good price and I snatched it up. Days later, he listed the matching frame...for a high price. I felt a obligation (and opportunity) to buy the frame, in order to keep the matching numbers...engine and frame, together. So I bought the frame too. I was happy when you bought the set. I made a few bucks, the parts live on together, and you got a worthy project. ALL good!

Looks really nice Robert.

What would i expect to pay to get my Red KO painted
It would most likely depend on how many dents are in your frame that would need to be fixed and how much rust. I can tell you a lot of people don’t realize how much work it is just to strip all the old paint and de-rust and sand blast all the painted parts…then add in all the sand paper, primer, paint, reducer , final wash, clear coat, thinner to clean your paint guns, ect… i would say minimum of $1000 to a maximum of $3000…I’m sure there‘s people on here that have used mikes mini trails for paint jobs so maybe they will pipe in on what they charge for there paint work..

That's glorious ~ I had a dry sump CB750 in this color that had *perfect* original paint, chrome, seat etc. but no title, no one wanted it so it sat out side for years and rusted away, what a shame .

Ok,,it’s time for assembly,,, the clear coat has hardened off and all sub assemblies are ready for install..in the pic there’s a primed Honda chain guard I’ll be painting to match,,,,the painted one in the pic is a Chinese knock off that I didn’t realize was in-till old CT’s hawk eye brought it to my attention..(thanks old ct) not a big deal but I’m trying to minimize the Chinese parts on this build and had a decent original Honda one laying around that needed little work .. also to keep the metal fresh and sealed I sprayed 3M rubberized undercoating up in the barrel of the main frame,, after the rust bath it went through it leaves the metal rust free but bare and it’s near impossible to get paint up there,,,,,( yes I taped around ignition switch hole for ground) stay tuned..

Nate is spot on, now is the time to ride one of the many in stock. :LOL:70 degrees is my favorite time to ride em!. There is a special kind of fun building one as well. Good call taping off the switch. Probably a good idea doing that precaution coating for the humid weather.

I hope you have a garage to work in.. thanks Nate,, and yes I have garage space but work in a transmission shop all week so when I get home the last thing I want is more time in a garage … lol. I can watch my car shows as I work on the bike in heat or a/c with no insect bites..if you look at my last 4 or 5 build threads they‘ve all been on that coffee table..when my dog was a puppy she chewed one of the legs on it so it has no big value to me…
