I bought this frame with matching complete bottom end of motor from Kirrbby about a year ago and being no one’s posted any restore jobs for awhile now and I’ve rounded up all the parts needed I’m going to get the ball rolling on this project..the bike will be painted back to candy blue/green….pics show the original paint frame then with the paint stripped and fully submerged in rust dissolver. the last pics show the frame and other parts after the de rusting process. I will be prepping all the parts for paint in the next few days…stay posted ….
I just did a 71 K0. Barn find. 10 digits separate the frame and engine numbers. I have a 140 on it now. I didn't go through the extent you have on the frame. Soaking the entire frame is s good idea. Can't wait to see it.

It sure is pretty .

As you have points the no spark is a dead simple matter of testing with a lamp not a gauge .
Thanks,,,
I will see if I have a fresh rebuilt Mitsu stator assy from allenp in stock.
im getting ready to ship one to him that has all new coils and components but wouldn’t fire…in the mean time I bought a new chp rebuild kit I’m going to try my luck on..if all else fails I’ll take you up on the offer…thanks Pat

I checked all that …the points are grounding and ungrounding when opening. im pretty sure it’s a primary coil..does anyone out there know what the wire that runs from the primary coil to the light coil is for? It’s only on the Mitsubishi setups..

We have discussed that wire before and decided that MAYBE...it is just there so that the primary coil can give the lighting coil a little boost. But that is the only, and best reason for it that I've heard of.

If it's the pinkwire then yes, it's the higher charge rate coil in the alternator .

About that other one, does the speedo still work ? .

I need to find someone who can fix my old CT90K2's dead speedo ~ it looks good but failed a while back .

It’s normally a white coated wire that connects them from the ones I’ve seen.

I'll be glad to help you out Robert. I have everything but an OEM lighting coil so I'm sure I can get you going. It will be tested before I return it so we'll be sure it works.

By the way, cool project that is looks great!

O.K., I guess I was thinking of the 50C.C. pushrod Cubs.....

The regular headlight power wire from the alternator is indeed white .

Got a little more done and had a sunny day for decent pics…I swapped out the frame decals ( the set in the other pics were junk when I looked at them closely) I installed the chrome trim on the frame, installed gas tank holder and seat hinge,,, I also got the plug sparking,,I built hitachi stator from parts I had hanging around and borrowed a flywheel from one of my junk sl70 motors..I plan on painting my original Honda chain guard tomorrow morning. next will be seat, battery and cover, oil an gas,….chain guard….and done as long as it runs and everything works…
