CHP engine cradle won't fit

Obviously there is a header clearance issue. Photo #1 is with the bolts in the back of the cradle. Photo #2 is with bolts into the upper mount. Suggestions?

The cradle isn't to blame, that exhaust looks reworked, cut and bent. Probably where they all rot where the packing goes. If you can't loosen all the bolts and adjust it time for a new one.

It looks as though the exhaust bracket is gone. I checked schematics and they don't provide enough detail. Can someone snap a photo or 2 of their exhaust brackets?
Thanks

I agree with OLD CT, the exhaust looks a bit tweeked. I am using the engine guards from CHP on two bike, they fit fine. Here are a couple pics of the set up on my HK0:

Try taking off the exhaust and then installing the guard. Then see if the exhaust will fit or if it needs to be "adjusted" or replaced. It looks like it is sitting a bit too far from the side of the bike. Also, FWIW, the rear brake cable should go in that clip on the airbox. This will prevent it from hitting the muffler.

That is a clean machine PPF!
That photo helps a lot. Looks like someone took off the muffler support bracket because it burned a hole through the brake cable sleeve when they didn't attach the cable to the air cleaner.
Looks like I need to order some more parts. I'm hoping with the bracket I can properly bend the header up a bit with some acetylene and gentle persuasion.

Thanks for the props!
Yeah, you may be able to tweek it with a heat wrench but make sure the area under the heat shield bracket is not rusted through and weak. If it is it can be repaired with a 1" sleeve and some welding. Again, put the guard on first and then check the muffler for fit. It looks like the flange for the bracket is still on the muffler.

Found the issue. The exhaust was installed wrong by whoever worked on it before me. I was able to properly get the parts together, but unfortunately I can't get the exhaust to seal at the head 100% I also discovered that part of the head where the exhaust bolts on is broken off.:(
Unfortunately looks like a new head is in my future. I'll run this one as is for now.
Yes I did get the cradle on!:D

Nope nothing is wrong with your head casting. The "missing chunk" of metal is just how the casting was made.

What you need to do is extract the remains of the old "donut", which can be very stubborn. Then install a new one. This will also improve the fitment of the entire exhaust. FYI, the tunnel surrounding the exhaust port has little to do beyond keeping the headpipe centered over the exhaust port. All of the sealing is accomplished by crushing the "donut" gasket between the port face & headpipe.
