Just picked up my first CT70. I've been searching for months for the right one. Here it is!!! I'll be updating my progress as I go.
Thanks for looking!

My plans are simply to get it all sorted out and running perfectly. It's a Lifan 110cc motor with less than 500 miles. Carb needs some adjusting. I don't think my gas cap is venting properly. Intermittently it will die when running in 4th gear at WOT, then I'll open the gas cap and you can hear the pressure blow off then I'll put the cap back on and it will start right up again..
So I've got some tinkering to do.

The cap isn't venting properly. As the fuel leaves the tank air must replace it - or else a vacuum will eventually develop in the tank, preventing flow to the carb (starving the engine for fuel). The 'woosh' you hear when you open the cap is air rushing into the tank, not out of it.

This is an easy and inexpensive fix. Honda part number 17620-165-642 is for the cap and the gasket, about $25-30 at your local Honda dealer.

I've run into this with a few plastic-tanked bikes, never with a steel tank. Offhand, I'd guess there's rust clogging the vent opening. A new OER cap makes the most sense. That said, it might be possible to unclog your existing cap vent...if only for shits & giggles. Might be a workable solution for the short term, like while you're waiting for your new cap to arrive.

I hadn't even thought of that. Thank you for the suggestion! I completely disassembled the fuel tank, petcock, and fuel lines and cleaned them all out with brake clean. However I didn't think of hitting the gas cap. Just figured it couldn't be rescued. I've ordered a new one but I will try that in the mean time.
Next it's on to figuring out why my turn signals are dim/weak in the front and inoperative in the rear. The brake light flashes when the turn signal is on but no rear signals.

Temporarily cleaned out the gas cap with brake clean and a bunch of gunk and grime came out. Adjusted the idle and rode it 4 miles round trip to work and back yesterday. Didn't sputter and die on me a single time! More tinkering to come this weekend.

Ok so I feel like I've made some good progress: cleaned out the tank, added inline filters, got a new gas cap and rejetted the carb.

Now here is my next issue that someone hopefully can shed some light on for me..
It has a new Lifan 107cc motor and the intake/carb is wayyy to close to the frame for my liking. Has anyone seen or know where to find an intake with an offset that turns it out AWAY from the frame so that I do not have my throttle cable resting/wedged into or up against the frame?

Funny, it seems to be a common affliction. I got my first CT70, in January. I'm now up to 5 CT70's, and two ST90's.
