CT70 HK0 Clutch not disengaging

Just got my HK0 out of winter storage today, amazingly started on the first kick after 6 months of storage. Upon riding, the clutch will not disengage, even with the lever held in for quite a while. In years past, the same thing happened, but it would fix itself after a few minutes. Any thoughts? Sticking plates, etc.? I have been contemplating replacing them anyway, as they are original, but just curious what may cause this. The cable is fine, linkage operates as it should, the problem is definitely internal. Should be an easy fix, I have been in there once or twice to clean the screen and spinner, I guess I should have done it then. Live and learn.

Sounds like a clutch preload and/or cable adjustment is needed. Pull the outer inspection/adjustment cover then check the lifter assembly and freeplay. If that checks out, then it's time for peak inside the clutch pack...to find out what's come unglued.

Thanks for the input. Simply a stretched clutch cable, new one on the way along w/new plates, HD springs, etc. to help move my 60 yr. old 200 pound frame along.
