CT70 K2 Fork Ears

Good morning everyone,
Since the K2 has chrome fork ears and I can’t seem to find any I was wondering if I could use another year model fork ears and have them chromed? Is there any other differences between the K2 and other years besides them being chrome?

K2 is a ''one year'' only part because it is chrome and does not have blinker mount holes. Very rare! That said, any K2 thru 79 will work. The differences are paint and blinker holes. K1 will not work.

So I just bought these from DR ATV, are they the accurate ones if I get them chromed?

Wow! You paid a LOT for the wrong parts.. One ear sold for $165.00 Now you need the correct K1 trim rings and the K1 lowers. K2-79 trim rings are different. Guess you bought these before asking.
You can't see the difference on a computer screen, you measure the difference in hand. Or ask me.:D

I miss read the description, the ears I bought were for a CT90 K2-K3 according to my invoice. It sucks but I do have a use for them eventually. It’s seeming like this K2 is like my K1 when it comes to a hand full of parts that are 1 year only. I guess should build a K0 like everyone else there seems to be oodles of parts out there for them lol.

Yes sir they are the wrong ones. I guess Iv had too many Coors today ;) the ones I did order were for a CT90 not a CT70 my ole lady will be happy with me! The more Iv looked around they are like you said OLD CT the K2 ears are few and far between. I don’t really want to add blinkers or have the holes for them. I’ll figure something out. I try really hard to keep all my bike as original as possible but this one might be an odd ball. :(

The K2 ears are the same as K3 and K4, except they are only a single layer of sheet metal and do not have the TS mounting holes.

K1 ears have the same or similar single layer metal ear, but they are shorter with a flange at the bottom.
I don't have a K2 to reference, but here is a pic of K1 and k3 and a 79.

If you look close, you can see that the longer K3 extends BELOW the lower triple tree, and the K1 stops above.
K3 trim ring/boot holder sits BELOW the TT, and the K1 trim ring sits ABOVE.

I would recommend simply holding out for the correct parts. MANY have waited years to find correct parts. There really is NO good substitute for a guy like you.

Or...doctor up a set of K3-79 to work, until you find the correct parts. That way everything is correct, EXCEPT the elusive HL ears. Then it's easy to pop them on when you DO find them...and, you WILL find them if you're patient.

That’s exactly what I was needing to see Kirrbby for it to make sense in my head. Yeah I’m probably gonna just wait and see what comes up. I would prefer to have the right ears for the K2 in the end. Thanks again everyone for all the info. That’s what makes this forum so bad ass!!!!
