thanks for the tips and recommendations. i think the main issue I have is not having the volt regulator or knowing I needed one, which I should have known since I knew the CT70 was not 12volt and the engine clearly has a 12volt tag on the pigtail. So I was trying to hook this up, clearly missing a lot of wires since the CDI only has two kill switch interfaces and a still mysterious blue w/white. Im going to get all the parts and try this again, one at a time. Thanks!

i was looking on line and they all appear to be the same length, do you have a recommendation on a coil and wire I should use that will tie into the Lifan 125CC motor? Thanks!

Coil HT leads can be extended, if you have one that is too short. If you're sourcing a new coil, ask product questions before committing cash.

Reg/rec units are easily wired and you can take your pick. 4 pins...white Charging) lead input, yellow ac inout, gets "Td" with the hl switch input, dc (+) output to batt, ground.

IMO you'll be happier over the longterm going with 12v. Batteries & bulbs are easier to find and in different wattages in 12v flavor. 6v stuff keeps falling behind, leaving fewer options.
