CT70 Rear Sprocket Question

Does anyone know what is the smallest (least teeth) rear sprocket that will fit on a CT hub without the hub itself interfering? I currently run 31 teeth with no issues and it looks like at least the plastic dust cover will have to go if I choose smaller.

32 is the smallest without the chain beginning to make contact with the plastic dust cover. Not sure if you might be able to go smaller than 31 if you have the hub machined a bit.

Thanks for the reply. I got a found a deal on a Kaw 28 tooth and went ahead and bought it. I have a lathe and mill and can make just about anything fit anything, so I'll give it a shot. I want my CT to have some legs.

If anyone's interested, the 28 tooth rear sprocket will not work properly. I would have to machine down the hub until there would be no metal left to support the rubber cushes. A 29 tooth should work with probably little or no machining. No one makes one obviously, so I'll be using a 29 tooth Z50 sprocket that I'll machine into a ring gear, and weld it to a stock CT70 sprocket that I'll machine down past the teeth to fit.

Seems it would be a lot easier to go to a bigger front sprocket. I think it's possible to go to a 18t front.

Thanks, but I already have an 18 tooth in front and a 19 physically won't fit. My similarly powered CL90 18/35 tooth ( with 18 inch wheels) is geared about 10% taller than my CT70 and that's what I'm looking for.
