I have a 72 CT70H. I had to swap out the crankshaft and once I got it put back together, I realized the flywheel would fit on. After doing some research, I found a post that said the crankshaft for the CT70 and CT70H differ.

Can anyone confirm this is accurate? and if so, where the hell do I find a CT70H crankshaft?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated

Dratv has it around $203 shipped to the lower 48. You have to install the new timing sprocket exactly where the old one was for the timing to be correct. See his/the ad.

Never heard of Dratv. Looking at his site and impressed! Thanks for the suggestion

Honestly thinking about just buying a complete motor from him. Have you heard of any reviews from people who've bought from him before?

I never purchased an engine from him. I have purchased a lot of parts though. Great vendor. You could do an engine swap, but keep the original engine, it's worth more with it and will help to keep resale value high.

That was a hard lesson to learn. Sorry that happened to you. You don’t say if the bike is a serious all stock or an every day rider. If the motor is done but the crankshaft is for a 3 speed you could consider replacing the stator and flywheel with a 3speed version, even upgrade it to cdi while your at it. Just another option.

Yeah I will definitely keep the original. The plan is to one day completely restore it. But for now, I just want to ride it. Thanks for the input!

Thank you sir. Yeah was not happy. But lesson learned I guess.

But yeah that is certainly an option I didn't consider. Really just wanna get the thing running so I can ride it. I think I may buy a complete motor, so I can ride it for a few years, and have the original engine for when I want to completely restore it.

But thank you for your input! Its greatly appreciated!

Late to the party but if you want to get to riding fast- Deoodles way is a quick fix. Flywheel and stator from a CT or Z which are readily available used or a cdi from a reputable vendor would even easier than swapping engines.
