hi

hi i like your bike.
can you give me bit of advice, i got a 160 engine and fresh forks to go on my frame.
but finding engine will not fit inline with frame mounts because of a little crossbar on the frame hitting the engine.
and forks are hitting a lug on top front of frame.
did you have to cut these to fit your parts?

Sharp looking bike! Where did you get the triple tree handle bar mount? I like that one. I am building one similar to yours DSC02117.jpg

Well got it all finished up last weekend. Just have to ride it and work out any bugs that might show up. Going to order some black shocks soon...

Nice looking bike. Changing the fork legs, from orange to black ,was a good call; black or chrome rear shocks will compliment them well. You should enjoy the YSS shocks. No idea, yet, how they hold up with mileage but the ride quality alone seems a good value for their modest price.

FWIW, the HD GoPro is a great little videocam. However, their present mounting system doesn't cope well with the vibrations these bikes generate. The plastic is too flexible - giving the old, dreaded, wavy video. Their "Chesty" strap mount is a good compromise between low mounting position and stable imaging.

Thanks RacerX. I agree with you about the forks and shocks.

I mounted the camera on my Buell and it would vibrate at lower RPM. Overall I am very happy with that little camera, I have took some great video.

I would imagine that the motor on your Buell transmits less vibration at frequencies that cause visible camera oscillation/wobble, than any motor that can be bolted-into a CT70 frame. I learned the hard way with my bike, same camera/mount/location. Imagine, if you will, the perfect summer day - sunny & 85 degrees, no wind, great scenery along the Lake Superior coast and a ride that unintentionally turned into a banzai run- one of the most memorable rides and also cracked the 15,000-mile mark, captured in HD. Now imagine the disappointment upon viewing the wavy results a week later. You might want to shoot some test "footage" on your CT, it could save you disappointment later.

FWIW...I did ultimately edit 23 minutes of raw video down to 3 minutes & change, treating the camera shake as an "artistic effect". It'll be posted over the winter, when cabin fever has set in. You can judge the results for yourself at that time.

Sorry you lost all that video. Looking forward to seeing the video :)

TrailRdr3r. How close does your red match the stock Candy Ruby Red? Can they match the Honda colors?

It is actually darker than the stock candy red that came on the Honda. I just wanted a darker color on this build. Oh im sure they can or can get really close.

That bike is very nicely done, bet it rides good.

Thanks!

Love the bike! Lots of inspiration here. Here's to you getting that nice day to shoot some video!

Thank you! I took some vid over the holiday break, just editing it now, will post a link soon...
