Decided to build a ct ko bought a mfg.date 6/69 it was just a frame engine and rear end. So started looking for a donor this guy said he had one in his garage that didn't run something about the spak plug,I read on here the warnings about one leading to another, Well it wasn't a ct but an st. and so it begins, Has stripped spark plug got that repaired and wantd to paint the cylinder before reassembly, Anybody know what silver paint was used on this originally

most likely, honda cloud silver…. i did a sprayout with code NH35M, and it doesn't look the same, but i'm yet to verify that. the newer code is called 'metal gray'

anyways, i know someone on here has found a wheel paint or similar that's a pretty close match… this is a CT90 or ST90?

The CT90 would have had a flat black cylinder, whereas the ST would have been the cloud silver.

Yes it is a st90 I too have the NH35M paint it looks darker than what is left on the cyl. but it may have faded over the years. Do you think that paint would hold up to the heat?

eh… most likely. that paint probably reaches 250 degrees plus. new paint might not look the same. i did a sprayout i've yet to send out…. to see if it's the same that is… if you find silver engine paint good to 500+ degrees you'll probably get away with it.

The #3 wheel paint seems a slightly closer match color and sheen. Wheel paint says to 250 degrees. Caliper paint to 900.

Caliper paint says you have to bake it for an hour to cure it.

I have used bake to cure paint before, and learned a very important lesson, " Don't do it if the wife is home " On another note went to the m/c swap meet today and scored an st rear fender with tool box and flasher for $ 10.00
