So they do have a spring pre-load adjustment? It does not appear to be visible in the pics. That is the thing I was interested in. For the price they seem like an awfully good buy for a CT which is not going to be ridden that aggressively.
I was going to try a set of enduro shocks off of an older Honda which i have which will also raise the back just a bit. If I am not happy with that idea, Dex's shocks are next.
CTs seem to have a rearward weight bias. Raising the rear ride height and going with slightly stiffer springs, combined with well-controlled shock action improves handling and ride quality. Shifting the weight forward improves turn-in and makes it easier to keep the front end down on takeoff & the 1-2 upshift (especially when carrying a passenger). This will also improve straight line stability. It's well worth some experimentation. The only downside is that balance has to be maintained, front-to-rear. If weight distribution is shifted forward, that will use-up some suspension travel which could be problematic if your fork springs & shocks are on the weak side.
While there's no question that a good disc brake setup provides better braking action than drums, the OEM K1-`79 forks are actually pretty good. Plus, they respond pretty well to "tuning" with heavier oil and stronger springs are available. If you're never going to go faster than 55-60mph, you might be better off tweaking the stock Honda fork and spending the money on some real rear shocks. (This doesn't apply to the K0 fork, which looks nice but is functionally lame)
