I noticed on a couple bikes what looks like runs in the paint on the headlight housing. Starting to think its actually bumps in the metal?

Those are actually bumps in the metal.

Honda used this same headlight bucket on one or two other bikes besides the Z50. I think a PA50 maybe, is a old moped that uses this bucket. The headlight is switches on and off with a switch that fits into the hole in the back of the bucket. The "useless hole" as some folks like to refer to it. That switch pointed to one or the other of those bumps... on bump and off bump, lol. Pretty sure that is how it is. Possible that the bumps could actually be more like stops for the switch as it's turned to on and off.

>>>by the way always5s, welcome to lilhonda.

Thanks Kirrbby, I just put a couple pics in the sticky "pic" thread. I've had a ton of these bikes over the years. Just picked up this one, super clean! I've got another K1 and aSL70 I should note the headlight pic is not my bike, just a clear one I saw on Craigslist

Beautiful bike, makes me jealous. And to kirrbby's old moped comment,I have an entire Honda catalog from '69 from when my Mom and Dad were shopping. That old moped,a PC 50 shared the page with the Z50. Strange thing though no CT 70's in the catalog at all. SL 90,Twin cylinder 125's,305 Dreams along with the new 350's 450's and the new 750 are in it. It's a catalog of the old and the new for some reason. Here is a couple of pics.
