From the start the stator on my Lifan 125cc 4-Speed worked off and on. Sometimes it'd be about 14 volts and sometimes less than 5 volts so I know there's some kinda short. I did try multiple Reg/Rec's with no luck. I actually installed a Baja Designs Ni-Cad 12 volt Battery Pack which runs the lights, horn, blinkers, high beam, brake lights for a couple of hours without needing to be charged. I put it under the seat with wires for both + and - so I can charge it without having to remove the seat, but I'd like the actually engine to run everything and be charging. I put it on this Frankenstein XR70, which was built with cheap Chinese parts to make it Street Legal. I changed out the front sprocket for the biggest one that would fit in the case, and put the smallest sprocket on the rear wheel. Before 1st was just way to low and useless. Now it's perfect!
