I'm almost positive the sissy bar was after-market. I have only seen 2 on CT's that were on ebay. 1 was a while back on a red K2(?) that was hanging on a garage wall with the very rare crash bar on it as well. The sissy bar was round at the top with a tab about 5 inches down that looked like it might have held a light or reflector. The other I saw was a little more 'pointy' at the top and tipped out from the bike... The bar you mention may have been installed by the buyer or at a dealership way back?...maybe someone with more knowledge would be able to confirm if there was such a Honda part available 'in the day'. If you Google Dax for images, you might see some of the Asian pics showing some of the more 'chopped' versions of the CT...

Sissy bar

Finally bought the bike serial number CT70H 143063, and it appears to have a factory sissy bar. The sissy bar has " Honda CT-70 CS" stamped on the side of it and it bolts up to existing mounting holes

Honda never offered a rear rack and those had "CT70" stamped into the tubing, as well. Back in the early `70s, the local Honda dealership had the racks and made no bones about them being aftermarket. As for a sissy bar, can't imagine Honda wanting to step into a liability snake pit that big...not even 40 years ago.

None of this has anything to do with the quality of the parts. They're just not OEM equipment. If you like, `em, use `em.:4:
