Front wheel spacing

In putting together the front wheel and fork I seem to have a spacing issue. The fork is a 1970 HK0 and the hub is from a 1976 bike if that may have something to do with my problem? There's about half an inch of space in the non brake side, it seems like I'm missing a spacer (but there is already a spacer on that side) Any ideas?

The spacer in your first picture that goes into the seal, is that from the KO or '76? It shows different part numbers for spacer, KO being by its self (but KO is the same as other bikes like z50's among others) and K1-94 all taking the same spacer. Also, what year is the axle bolt from, I'm guessing its the wrong axle bolt and maybe spacer, '76's were probably longer to compensate for the wide oil filled forks.

Are you sure the spacing is wrong? What happens if you push the right leg over tight to the spacer?? Are the legs parallel??

I think you just have the wrong axle. The axle for a 76 is too long for a K0.

Bolt and spacer are both from the 76. So maybe the K0 has a shorter bolt and longer spacer?

It looks like you run out of threads before everything gets tight right? Are those CHP fork legs, look pretty new and shiny

You can see the axle is too long. The spacer is too short. Order up a K0 front axle spacer and the correct nut.

There is a ''1970 CT70 front axle spacer and nut'' on ebay for 24 bucks shipped...

If the front wheel spacers are different lengths between pogo legs and hydraulic legs, that will be new information for me...learned something. Can anyone confirm that information??
It would make sense that they're different...I just didn't know.

eastcoastish, I would take a measurement of the fork tubes on the triple tree...right where they are connected by the steel plate. Get a center to center dimension. Then, the C to C dimension should be the same for the shiny new lower legs down by the wheel when everything is properly tightened/torqued.
Proof is in the pudding.

Do you have the top clamp installed on your front end?? The part where the handlebars mount??

Yes, top clamp is on (i posted another picture above). Measurement on the top clamp from bolt-to-bolt is 6.5" and so are the center of the arms at the bottom. If I try to force the legs together at the bottom it's clearly bowed inward.

I ordered this kit from CHP: https://www.chpmotorsports.com/shop/suspension/axle-and-spacer-kit-front-ct70-ko-hko/ and will post back with an update when i get it.

Just to bring closure to this topic, the K0 spacer is in fact longer than the 1976 spacer. I'm good to go, thanks for all the help!

And, as an FYI, it appears that Honda used that same spacer on the '68-'99 Z50A and R, the '00-'03 XR50, and the '04-'12 CRF50, as seen in the lower right corner HERE
