EXPIRED FS: 1970 CT70H - Green - $400 [SOLD]

This is it for this bike. Either it sells before I go on winter break, or it gets parted out.

Will need the gas tank sealed better on the bottom(metal tank), needs some tuning with carb, and needs bars bent back a bit to be functional. Motor does run good, trans shifts good.

Cant get more than 100 bucks on craigslist for it so my last option is to part it out on eBay. This isnt a show bike, but is a good bike to teach people how to use a clutch, good daily runner, one to have fun with or restore.

It has a correct wiring harness and key switch. I have a 4speed spedo but would want more $$ for that.

Bike is located in Olivet, MI.

Less than 100 off from my HKO. Probably same day builds. I'd only be interested in the frame, engine, and a few other parts. The rest is junk. I'd like to buy it but, that bike needs thousands to look new again. Best of luck to you.

too far awa

You are too far away or I'd be interested in this one. 400? that's about right IMO for an H in running condition. Pop it on ebay...it will sell there for sure.

You will get it and probably more...For someone who knows how to do their own restorations and not source everything out, that bike is no big deal. Good Luck Nate!

The rest is junk? That's a bit harsh without actually inspecting it in person, I'd say. 400.00 is the lowest I'd sell that for. It runs, which means 400.00 minimum in these parts. Ebay.

I would never sell that bike for any less than $400. That bike is way better than most of the stuff out here on the east coast. Unbelievable you can't get it sold on CL. Out here that thing wouldn't last more than an hour or two on craigslist. Looks like nice clean rims, chrome looks really decent all around, and it RUNS. If it had a headlight and speedo on it it would certainly be a sweet complete rider. As kmcrab said, it only costs a ton of money to restore these bikes if you pay others to do the major work such as paint and engine rebuild. If you can do this yourself it costs next to nothing. I'd be more than happy to take the other "junk" ;) Good luck with the sale...don't give that thing away!

Ebay is the way to go. You'll just have to deal with crating and shipping if the high bidder doesn't live near you.

If you do part it out, there are several parts I'd like to get a hold of for a Topaz Orange Rebirth.

"Ones mans junk, is another man's treasure"

A low end fix and ride wouldn't be too pricey. Why separate the speedometer/headlight bucket from the bike? That will deter any buyer. Speedometer are becoming hard to find.

I either want whats its worth, or I will use it on my resto next summer for my other green bike. Apparently my dads younger brother crashed the other green one(the one I am redoing next summer) (121xxx) and broke it decades ago.

81 to be exact. This bike is soooooo tempting. Almost worth the "Wrath of the Wife"

You know where it is.

I am about 2 hours from the Windsor ON border.

You claimed you found it on craigslist advertised for $325.00 according to the original thread and that was with the speedometer intact. No shame in trying to turn a profit but, the missing headlight bucket and speedometer might be a deal breaker for some.

I figure a headlight bucket(thats F'd) and a 4 speed spedo that doesnt work, along with 75 bucks (actually less after you factor in gas to go get it from Grand Rapids and back) is barely anything.

Not to mention I bought new points, carb kit, gas line, coil, re did the wheels, and stole the wiring harness and keyswitch from my other green bike.

Im losing my ass on this one, and thats IF I can get 400 out of it. I over paid when I bought it originally, cant escape that fact. Oh, and time.

Your not the first one to tell me that though, I have learned that Green buckets and 4 speed speedometers get people fired up.

I would part it out. In the long run you'll make more money. Unless a prospective buyer lives nearby, the shipping will be as much, if not more than the bike is worth as a whole.

I am very happy for you Nate! Someone will treasure that bike. It would have been a shame to part it out...There are a lot of people with the skills to bring it back to glory again and love it even more! Great idea with UTube.
