New guy with a genuine question

So I inherited 2 1979 ct70s. Both are in the middle of the road as far as shapewise. The first one is together and runs. The 2nd one is pretty much a bike in a box. A frame with wheels pretty much. Really set on after all my research of dropping a 110-125 cc china motor in. I want to do away with the points on atleast one. Will someone just point me in the right direction of what chinese motor is best to just drop in with little to no modifications and a list of what one would need for the process. For example, a new carb since I've read the Chinese ones don't last well, wiring harness, headlight etc. Thank you for any and all input! I just need some advice and a list from the pros and hopefully I'll start a build forum!

Lifan 125 or if you want a bit more a pirahna 140. Those are pretty popular. Tboltusa.com has lots of info on what is recommended. You'll be switching over to 12 volt. Its up to you if you want to keep the stock harness or just swap in a new one with all the hookups for cdi, regulator, etc.

A stock engine, requires NO modifications. A stock engine with a 88cc big bore piston/cylinder requires VERY few modifications.EVERYTHING else, requires definite modifications. And it seems that there arent many folks who are willing to offer...start-to-finish help. Folks who would recommend these chinese engines, should be willing to hang in there with helpful info, but I've rarely seen it happen.
If you stick with a stock engine...there are many books, videos, parts diagrams, threads, and...start-to-finish help available...plus, the parts ARE available.
If you go with a chinese engine, we will do our best to help you sort it out, tune it in, etc. But I've never done it personally. Soo...I can offer advice and, whatever info that I think I know.

The electrical will be tricky. There are some, advertised, plug and play, aftermarket wire harnesses available. But, IDK if they work as advertised...no experience.
You will need new, wider, footbath for the wider engine. You may want a bigger exhaust to get the most out of you big motor. The carb we could help with...carb, intake, air filter, and cable actually. We would recommend a oil cooler for the big engine too...but you could risk it if you'd rather avoid the hassle, and expense.

Every modification from stock, requires more modifications to get it working.
Stock, works...just like stock. And it's all in the book.
