Hello, I’m looking to buy this Honda mini and the owner has no papers and says there’s no vin. I’m only familiar with ct70s and these are new to me. Is this normal and still worth the buy?

He said he just found a number 287723 so looks like it’s an older model. So this the only numbers on the bike normally? Also I’d assume this wouldn’t be possible to become street legal

It’s a k-2 z50.. with a funky handle bar mount that I’ve never seen before… it came with a headlight and tail light…it also has the front wheel on backwards and has no brake plate.

X2...K2 Z50...built in later 1970 and 71.
There SHOULD be a vin tag riveted to the front most part of the frame...steering tube.

$800 isn't ridiculous right now...but 5-600 sounds a lot better for that bike. It's missing a lot of very expensive parts.

The only tag there is what I said above. Yeah I agree with the missing pieces

Isn't the VIN stamped on the (chain side) rear axle - wheel mounting plate?
Yes they were but should still have a vin plate on the front of frame…look close and you should see 2 very small holes were the rivets spiral in to holes to retain the vin plate.. along with sticky adhesive on back side of vin plate.
