Project Start

CF,

Great looking project and "background"...
Mine was there a few weeks ago and now I'm just getting the engine mounted and almost ready for a test drive.

My CT70 will be a pit bike for my vintage races (Gratten, Mid-O, Summit, Beaverun and others), but I also plan to get an antique plate for the streets here in PA. May need to do a little creative paperwork as I did to get a plate for my race car (loud street car with no headlights, turn signals, bumpers, horn and other "added" weight).

Keep us posted. I just posted a pix in teh CT70 stock gallery under "junk yard dog".

Keep the shiny side up.
Keith

PS - what year is your CF?

Im going to split the cases on sat Dec 2 im going to replace the kick starter shaft and all the gaskets and seals then also. Im going with a really nice custom light Blue metalic. I will probably paint tomorrow. Silver basecoat then about 6 coats of color and then 4 -5 coats of clear. Should be beutiful. I will get pictures up when done. I just finished recovering the seat and im happy the way it came out. Hey guy do you ever get anywhere north? id like to meet sometime for those parts. let me know. 847-322-2632. Dean

Projects

I thought the avatar looked like a FV, hard to tell but it also could have been a Royale with the bottom painted. I race with the VSCDA, VRG (lots of FF & CFs) and have been thinking of going open wheel (mainly FV) but I still have too many projects to take on anymore.

Good luck with the CT. I find these are really interesting and easy projects to do. I was lucky and my junk yard dog had a trashed engine (no need to work on it at all) and a very solid frame and seat pan.

Maybe we will "race" our Ct70s at a race some day.

Junkyard Dog barkin!!!

Got the junkyard dog running tonight. Surprised how much torque in 1st gear - did a wheelie right into the garbage can I had sitting by the door. This thing is going to be fun around the house and at races.

Only did a run up and down the street in the dark, but it seems to right good. I need to adjust the carb - anyone have an tips?
