Touch up Paint ?

Good morning, I had a question about touch up paint. I just picked up a 1970 blue green h model. The bike has a few minor scratches on the front forks. It also has a few spots of surface rust. I am not looking to do a full paint job. Just repair the minor scratches and sand the small spots of rust and touch them up. How is the touch up paint from dr.atv? Should I also by a clear coat pen that they offer as well? Here is a picture of the bike...

I have not used the dratv paint so I will let others comment. I have a blue/green h model, and I have seen ford f-150 trucks on the road with the same exact color. If I can ever get the code off of one, I bet I could buy a touch-up pen with that exact color

Candy color touch-ups require serious skill, though luck shouldn't be dismissed. CBG is a highly fade-prone color, due to the UV-unstable green pigment used. The essentially means no off-the-shelf match unless you happen to luck out. If you use the Ford color, it'll be different, since it's garden-variety metallic, not transparent topcoat over a metallic basecoat.

I don't know if Colorite still sells the base silver & CBG topcoat pens. That would give you a good match for the un-faded, OEM, color value and it would be an airdry lacquer, same as original. I'd do a small test spot, in some inconspicuous location. That way, if you decide that the chips look better than the touch-ups, no harm done.

Yea, I would never do the ford thing unless its a 110% perfect match, I absoluty hate seeing a car, house or motorcycle with obvious "paint patches"

The B/G color can take a bunch of nicks and scratches and still looks good after a good wax job far away, the patches show for miles!

It's not the exact color.
