Value of a "project restoration"

Alright, So I have been searching for a rebuilt bottem end for my '72 HK1. Someone on the local craigslist posted an H model that had a completely rebuilt engine, repainted frame, forks, powder coated rims with new tires and tubes, etc.

I would essentially be taking the bottom end off and using it. Everything else wont be used.

Anybody know what I can get out of these parts? He was asking $350 but after talking to him he is down to $175. I would like to get as much of my money out as possible, so any input or advice is appreciated.

Thanks

If you take the motor and sell the rest you should make 400 or so over the $175. I would keep the frame that belongs to the motor if the numbers match. ---I should clarify that. If you sell the individual parts.--- If you sell off the rest as one sale you should still get your money back.

Well I dont think the painting was done professionally. What parts are worth the most? That way, I can see what to look for when I go take a look at it. He also has a speedo, fenders, and some more misc. parts to go with it

Sometimes the engine is the best part of a parts bike especially when the bike was left for dead outback behind the shed.Rusty/bent parts don't bring much $.Sounds like you have some good parts to sell at least.
