I have too much crap already and I just keep buying more. I like to think I'm just learnin to be a more... discriminatory addict. Sometimes I score big, sometimes I crash and smoulder. This time I think I've done well. 1972 74 Honda CT70 Taillight Tag Bracket | eBay. Seller says K 1-2-3. But that of course can't be right. I'm thinkin its a K3 part.

It is a K3 bracket. The K2 version does not have the wire retainer underneath. Nice find for the price. Hopefully you put some of that footpegs money I sent you towards the purchase.

Again you've taught me something HG. And yes, rest assured I'm spending your money wisely.

That's good to hear.

Another difference in the K2-K3 taillight brackets is the distance between the taillight mounting holes. The distance is greater on the K3 as compared to the K2 version.

I'm not familiar with the K2 at all, I thought it was the same as the K3. I know the K1 has a wider mount for the wider taillight. I have a spankin new K3 bracket in a box for the K3 I'm plannin, this one I'll likely exchange for cash at some point. Or for a comparable K1 bracket.

I was mistaken earlier. There is no difference between the K2 and K3 brackets (P/N: 51602-098-951XW). The differences I stated before (wire retainer & mounting hole distance are between the HK1/K1 and the K2/K3 brackets.

Below are pictures of a HK1, K2, and K3 Taillight assemblies.

I'm interested if you sell it. Let me be the first to have a crack at it.

I'll definitely keep you in mind HG. If I sell it to you tho I'll have to make you a fair deal, instead of taking advantage of some unsuspecting K2 K3 restoring ebayer this winter.

Sounds fair. I could handle a 50% mark up plus shipping.

Ooooh, I might have to just sit on it for awhile, maybe just shine it up a bit, until you really start to feel the need. lol, honestly tho, I haven't even paid for it yet. Better wait till I have it in my hot little hands and see if I can let it go again. Hoarders like myself sometimes just like to be able to have, see and touch all of their precious possessions. Especially the really pretty ones. Is it possible for a guy to have too many K3 TL brackets?

HG, I,m going to swipe the grommets and hardware from the K3 but it's yours if you want it. It does nedd just a little straightening tho. (Pencil points to it if you can see it).

In the pictures, the one on the right would be the one that's for sale. It's for a K3 bike 1973-4 I think. The first CT70's to have turn signals. It uses a different taillight than the K1 bikes. It's available still, I had hoped to get about $125-150 for it on ebay. $100 plus shipping if you want it. If you need the K1 version, I have a couple but they're not nearly as nice. let me know.

All these brackets have the same top frame mount holes right? If so, the only difference would be the taillight mount holes. My K1 taillight (wide taillight) holes measure center to center 3 - 15/16". Does the one on the right measure 3 - 15/16" center to center?
