A small bidding war for this motor but that's a really good price for a 93 engine. O'course there's never any guarantee but I think this buyer will do all right.

I won 3 auctions from the same bike maybe some of you guys were checking it out too; great prices and seller will combine shipping. What a cool dude.:10:

I watched that motor auction go off, but wasn't bidding. I thought it was a fair price too.
I snagged the frame. Has a few dents, but it was cheap. Wonder if he has the title? Doesn't really matter I spose.
I bid on the fork legs, but I was bidding low. They were...questionable. The pitting looked like it was probably in the, travel zone..?
I really wanted the wheels, and I was willing to pay. I got caught sleeping on those...missed the auction end, where I was plannin to snipe them. Dang it, dang it, SOAB. No biggie really, just wanted them...

Most of that bike was selling cheap. I was tempted to bid on a couple other things, but refrained.

I saw that frame and you got a real good deal on it! I got small items; H. volt coil & CDI modue 9.99. Rear grab bar, these are not made anymore 9.99.

93' Rear brake pedal, mines got a yellow stripe painted on it.:10:
plus I found out they are exclusive to 90' bikes only, bigger diameter sleeve, other pedal won't fit. Hey Kirb; He's got another set of 70 wheels, look good b id is 49 so far.

I was tempted on that brake pedal. It looks like it has a bigger bend on it too. Thought it might be good on my Scrappy Softail.

I like the 90's frame for a restomod. From Honda in 1993 with 1993 technology, and after all they learned from the weaknesses of the earlier CT frames.

Yep, plus it includes the brake rod with the special fastener thingy.

Kirb, he put out some oem 70' wheels & tires for auction today i think.

Ya I seen his new listings. Those wheel look really nice too. Nicer than the white ones were. He started the auction higher tho. 50 bucks I think. The white ones sold for 41...plus $35 shipping tho.

There's no real advantage to a later frame. Strength became a non-issue with the K1, when they went to the one-piece, integral, engine cradle.

Next year, this one will be officially "antique"...25 years old... which gives you the option of historical registration and easier/cheaper insurance options. OTOH, you're bound to 1993 D.O.T. compliance standards...turn signals, dual mirrors, for road use.

You may want, or need, to perform a few mods, like a steering stop, in place of the lock flange, removal of those wire hoops for the evaporative emissions hose. The 12v seat latching/locking setup is quite different from the earlier style. Not sure how many 12v-configured seats are available these days, or the seat locking assemblies + keys. The extra flanges can be excised and a 6v seat latch installed, you'd need to weld M6 hex nuts to the wheel arch. The sidebadge incuses are smaller but, oddly enough, 12v sidebadges can be found.

I did notice that this frame is really clean, no rust anywhere and you don't see that very often. For the money, it's a lot of value. I'd like to know how this seller gets half-priced shipping from UPS. Seriously, enter your zip code & his, 14x16x20 & 50lbs for package dimensions & weight, and see the estimate you get for shipping an engine...with the standard $100 insurance. A frame is lighter, typically just shy of 30lbs, packaged weight, but quite a bit larger and better than $70 to ship via UPS. FedEx is a helluva lot less but, still nearly double what he's charging for s&h.

I bought a 90's CT with a destroyed frame a few years ago. I have most all of the parts other than a frame and a key. I think I would put everything I have on this frame, then decide what to remove and replace from there. No title comes with this frame, and I know it had one when new. I'll probably go thru Vermont, when I'm ready to register it, rather than hassle with my local Secretary of State.

I can pick a crazy color, or three for a resto-mod 93, then a body man should make short work of the dents.

eBay now includes shipping charges with the sale price that they charge to the seller for calculating their fees. But, they give deep shipping discounts to counter. Also, I shipped a frame to Deoodles a while back via USPS parcel post for 35 or less. The trick is to get parcel post. The USPS website doesn't always cooperate.

I won that auction for the motor, lol. I'm thinking nobody wants my Nice-engined '94, so the plan was to put this motor in, convert most of the bike back to stock, sell the Nice engine on its own, along with some of the aftermarket goodies, and still have a decent stocker to sell. I have a tough time parting out a complete, low-mile bike in nice shape...

I was out-bid on the carb/intake, unfortunately. I did pick up the shocks, flywheel cover, and exhaust along with the motor.

That kind of makes me sick ,that frame I sent to mikes minitrails for cj ,I stuffed in a garbage bag so no extra weight ,cheapest shipping through Canada post was well over $100.00 .At least it was very quick .I wish I wasn't 3 hours from the border .

Sounds like a good place to start a shipping company :)

Nice. Let us know what other bits you're needing. We might have them, or can put some Xtra eyes and ears out for them.

I would love to see a Nice engine go up for bids on eBay. You would HAVE to set a reserve, but I'd be interested to see the last half hour or so of that auction. I think folks would be HOT for a ready to run Nice..ripe for pickin, right now.
Typically they're dealt between enthusiasts within our circles. Ever seen one on the auction block?

Right now I'm needing a kick-start lever, intake/carb, and maybe the filter assembly/housing. I should have everything else.

I'm planning to sell the Nice engine with shifter, Kitaco kick lever, temp dipstick from Bob, finned tappet covers, intake, VM20 carb w/ K & N filter, extra VM22, extra cylinder and piston, and the stock Nice wiring harness with controls. I'm hoping that complete package peaks someone's interest...

I've sold on Ebay before, but hate giving up that chunk to them and/or paypal...I'd prefer to just deal with someone privately, but doubt many people on the local craigslist site know what a Nice engine is, or to even look there. I think I'll try here and Planetminis first, and otherwise go to Ebay.

Well I know at least one guy that's interested... but I'll bet there is 2 :)
I thought that seller had the kicker and air box listed, but got only one or 0 bids. I'll have to look back. I might have a kicker. And if I have the airbox, I don't need it. Carb...Maybe.

I didn't see the airbox, but yeah, got outbid last second on the kicker and carb...stupid me. I was fat-fingering things in a panic and missed out, lol.

Thanks for looking for those parts, I appreciate the help.

I also got involved with that seller's auction. Got outfoxed on the carb, but picked up the headlight bucket and speedo.

Me thinks that 93' carb came from China way after 1993. It didn't look liken a OEM carb .right?
The NOS air box is still avail at partzilla:lol:

Shipping via parcel post means going through the line at the local post office, then hoping they'll accept it and charge what the estimate said. I suspect you're right, big corporations have been getting huge discounts through UPS; three guesses who subsidizes this. I don't sell on feebay, thus UPS has gotten so stupidly-overpriced that I rarely use them anymore.
