Anyone thinking about riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway this fall. Something I want to do, just not alone. Reach out if you are considering.

Hey Sidewinder. Yes that is the road. Skyline drive is only a small portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is 469 miles through VA and NC.

10-4, I didn't know it ran that far... I remember rolling along Skyline Drive to see the colors turning, those trees were something else, some of 'em looked like they were on fire due to their bright orange & yellow colors. :yellow70:

I ride Skyline drive every year on a bike...sometimes CT's sometimes not. We could potentially ride some of it together, but i'd be coming from the north.

:eek:OUCH!!!! Having sustained a partial and non-repairable bicep tear in `15, I can attest to the fact that it's not as much fun as one might think.

The only positive news I have to offer is that this surgical repair, of a complete tear like you have, has a very high success rate, with little chance of a repeat performance. Speedy recovery, Jarred.

Chimney Rock, awesome venue, featured in the Daniel Day-Lewis remake of "LAST OF THE MOHICANS"---action was supposed to take place in upstate New Yawk, but it was filmed at Chimney Rock in the Tar Heel, LOL. Meh, just more Hollywood bull$h!t, but Chimney Rock is radical, I had a good time there, I even hopped a fence to do the temporarily-closed Cliff Trail, had that bad boy all to myself, don'tcha know? Fine spring day too, with all the flowering trees going off down below, birds cruising past along the cliff face, everything right with the world... I even took a dip in the Rocky Broad River before dropping my trailer in a parking lot and tooling up the drive to Chimney Rock in my 10-ton tractor, LOL. That water was COLD too, and I'm talking the month of May, might have been early in the month but I remember how cold that water was, AYE???

Hey, Fatcaaat, sorry to hear about your injury, I ripped some tendons or ligaments in my right shoulder years ago, never had the surgery to reattach 'em, I've been livin' with the problem ever since, yeah? My bicep injury was at the upper end, so I have what looks like half a bicep on that side, maybe a little more than half, not so much that people notice unless I direct their attention to it. But it DOES make a difference in performance, that's for sure... maybe one day I'll get it fixed, maybe I'll DIE first, who knows? The injury kind of ended my technical rock climbing career, but that's alright, I had 25 good years on the crags, so f#% it, LOL. Anyway, sorry to hear it, you may think I'm a complete @$$hole but I still like your posts, and kudos to those who also offered their condolences... that's what I like about this crazy monkeybiking family, y'all may hail from different walks of life but y'all still ride these minis, WOOHOO!!! :red70:

That's a sentiment MotoDevo and others here can appreciate... oh, yeah, can't forget OLD CT, CJ, RacerX, Kirrbby, Scooter, Smitty Blackstone (?), and others, they ALL rock when it comes to these goldurned minis, LOL. I threw that question mark in there because I can't remember whether that's Smitty's exact name, my bad here, I suffer from CRS, 10-4??? Sheeee-it, sometimes I can't even remember my own name, reminds me of that Clash tune, appropriately titled "WHAT'S MY NAME???" Great song, for those who like that style of music, and I still do, though I usually crank "I FOUGHT THE LAW AND THE LAW WON" (LOL). That's an excellent cover of that fine old tune too, the intro is radical with the guitars & drums going off... The Pistols and Dead Kennedys don't exactly suck when it comes to hardcore thrash tunes, but that Clash tune (and other Clash tunes) rank right up there as well.

"BREAKIN' ROCKS IN THE HOT SUN... I FOUGHT THE LAW AND THE LAW WON, I FOUGHT THE LAW AND THE LAW WON..."

Well, in my phony malicious prosecution, the law took a beating, as well as the corrupt Epic Darwin Failure D.A. out in Dago, and I'm not done yet either, LOL, but that's the way it goes, AYE??? Good news is that more and more citizens nationwide are beginning to realize that these goombah tards are NOT here to "Protect & Serve"---those days are LONG GONE, LOL. But I won't dwell on that scene much longer, I'll handle that business at other websites, I just thought it was funny that those gals in the office today knew about the corrupt p.o.s. D.A. out in Dago, maybe they read some of my posts at other websites, LOL. Y'all can Google "ZAHAU" to figure things out, in case ya don't already know, 10??? Now, where was I? Oh, yeah, I sure hope Fatcaaat gets better, I like his posts because they are informative and often humorous, so get better, hand, we needs ya here, YEAH??? (y)

ALRIGHT, I BETTER POST THIS BEFORE I GO SLASH AND GRAB ANOTHER BEER, LOL... TMI, I KNOW, BUT I'M IN A GOOD MOOD, YEAH??? :yellow70:

I actually attempted to ride a CT70 yesterday for an evening ride...doesn't work. The little bumps in the road is all it takes for serious pain. I don't know what my bicept weighs, but seeing it is only connected at the shoulder, it was flopping around. I suspect if I wrapped my arm from shoulder to elbow with ace bandage, I'd be able to ride a 30 mile course, but once I have the surgery, that won't be the case.

As for typing, I also play the accordion, so I'm fairly good typer with just my left hand. If I can play those 120 buttons, a keyboard is not an issue.

But...I am relatively immune to cold weather and ride my bikes all season provided there is no snow on the ground. So, once I recover, i'd be willing to do a Skyline/Blueridge ride in December or January.

It's more than just the pain...the clock is ticking. Being attached at one end only, the muscle is shortening and atrophying. This is one where where the shortest amount of downtime, and agony, is to be had by getting the surgical repair done ASAP. The recommendation is less than 6 weeks, tops. After that duration, reattachment surgery and recovery become more difficult...and lengthy.

Agreed...surgery is Friday, 6 days after the incident. No messing around here for me. It is surprising how strong an arm is without a bicept though.
