I'm aware of the Las Vegas temps today. My son is there trying to fly out, space available, on Delta. Seats available, but payload restricted due to high temperatures. He been trying since 9am. One more flight before he has to try the red eye to Atlanta.

Early morning is the best time O'day in the desert for a test cruise! Found time for a small cruise on the New tire, still have the ten inch on the back. I do notice the front end of the bike feels really flickable or responsive but hard to really tell as its tracking like hello, I will need to get the 12" on the back for any real evaluation. i will tell you that those tires did raise the seat height! I can feel it because i'm so tall:LOL:

Gonna try and mandle the rear tire this weekend. :D Here's my 91' and some better pics, the trail bike does have a different look, tho:eek:

I like the look. Not as much tire as I sport. What really matters is how they feel and is the suspension better with them. I’d like to hear once you have them both installed.

Yep, I'm starting to like the new look of it but the job is not fini. At 25mph and with the ten inch tire on the back, her ass is all over the place.
I heard that expression from the movie 'Days of thunder".

Cole Trickle : Whoa. Her ass is all over the place.
Harry Hogge : When the rear end loose the car's fast. Loose is fast, and on the edge of out of control.

The bike is not tracking worth a crap but i can't wait for both to be on, i want to try a few corners.& curves;)

the construction front: The doll house has grown!:cautious:
You can see the garage, half is for a electric golf cart,! It Doesn't look too dolly now!:coffee:

Only half my view is obstructed....:coffee:. Here are some pics. Its fun to play with my Kodak Camera's X40 zoom:eek:! Guess which tree i planted in my back yard? I bought it from my old house in Vegas.

Adam, what's the speed rating on those 12 inchers?
I can all but guarantee that it's "J"...62mph. Nearly every tire of this diameter carries this speed rating. If you want higher, start perusing the Heidenau catalog. Their K61 series, for example. carries an 84mph "M" speed rating; they're great performance road tires, made from a nicely sticky rubber compound.

I miss riding my CT70 around the neighborhood and my cmx250 Rebel won't be ready for cruising till i get it insured & registered and myself licensed:LOL::cautious::mad:. That will happen next week, will apply for my learner's permit.

The Trail Bike is good driving practice and just plain Fun! Also want to see how these tires handle when i cruise.../(y)

We are having a break w/this Heat for now as weather moves in the next 2 days.

So what's the Deal with August in the desert?
 I think It needs to chill :coffee:.:D

I will be duct taping the two beads like the last tire. MArked the direction of the Rim & tire, will let the rubber bake an hour should be good and not too hard to slip on, got everything ready.

Lol! :DThe update is the duct Tape broke cause its been too hot ! I then tried to mandle the tire on and all I got was frustration! And a scratched rim.
So I got some Gorilla Tape like they recommend. The weather should cooperate today and from now on as crazy triple digits are over! I miss riding my CT70!

Do yourself a favor and remove the hub, why make it harder? Or was that for the photo, like you are making progress? LOL! :red70:

That was my progress shot! Even Leo cant wait for the tire, time to get the Lead out!

That Home depot clamp came unpainted and ready to Rust:D So Got the U clamp painted for the Rebel's crash bar. 100_0003.JPG 100_0021.JPG

Here's the doll house, it's all grown up!.100_0013 (1).JPG
Lots of insulation on it.

They really insulate these homes pretty good, they do stay cool and the AC bill is low..too.(y)

Success! :) The water bottle failed or vapor locked but other than that a good day! We had a storm front blow in last night so its cool now....the last two Days were too insanely Hot for this...:coffee:

My last two attempts ended when the duct tape broke in the heat i think... and then when I tried to just put it on by hand, that 12" tire ...its a lot harder than it looks!I:mad: I'll need to retouch the rim from the new scratches.

So now Today, i got better tape. I ended up using the Gorilla tape in 7 places! LOL :D That made it easier to align the yellow 'Dot' with the Valve. The tie wrap hold the tire and make it easier to Gorilla Tape, remove before instal!

100_0025.JPG 100_0029.JPG 100_0028.JPG

If you notice the hub not lining up with the rim, it will when I bring it inside at it cools off, will bolt right up like the last one.
Just by Looking at the rim with the 33T sprocket it should do 160mph!:LOL:...I was at 42 MPh with stock tires, maybe I can Increase that a few more mph's.

Good to see progress. I couldn’t have waited this long. Update us post your ride and tell us if this project was worth the time and $$$$

Upping the Rims by 2" is about three hundred Buck$S!;) thats what i figured it cost, that doesn't include paint, or tire valves or the valve tool:D LOL.

Just happy to be rid of those POS plastic Taiwan tires that broke my Rib! Should of never used them in the first place.

Filled the Tire with Air and all is Well! :)

But....I can't instal a scratched up rim; and I did a number on it scratch-wise speaking. So I'm Wet-sanding the Rim getting ready for a quick Touch-up. I should be able to blend the scratches so you won't easily see em'.;) I luv wetsand!

Best place to wet sand this 12" Rim is the Kitchen Sink! ---->LOL ,Its a Perfect fit! (y)

I should have explained which type of paper I use, here's a pic. I use 600 grit. Yep, acrylic enamel is pretty forgiving and idiot proof for the most part.
100_0055.JPG

The great thing about wet sand is it will blend the primer & color coat and the scratch will 'feather' in with water!
It leaves a smooth as glass finish and can be painted quick, its good stuff.(y)
