IMO, this one looks like more machine than it really is and I actually kinda like the overall aesthetic. I'm also not taking any potshots at the seller, he strikes me as being somewhat uninformed, going by what's in the listing...as well as what isn't. There are a lot of low-buck Chinese parts that comprise this machine...between the garden-variety front end & rear shocks, there's maybe $500. The speedo is a cheap repop. The tail light, rear rack, chainguard and probably the seat are made-in-PRC/ROC items. That's a repop engine guard, too. And Daytona engines have all been manufactured in China for about a decade now. The current crop are Jialing. Daytona used to be a high-end Japanese manufacturer, they've long-since shifted to low-cost made-in-China parts. Takegawa is the last remaining Japanese aftermarket engine builder and their comparable motors retail for about 4X the price of a 150 Daytona...and up.

This could be a nice rider for the right person, at the right price. That said, frankly, I don't see anywhere close to $5K there nohow...

You know how it is with Chinese consumables, Pat...an hour later, they've forgotten.

Have seen a short carb cap on a KO. Might have been a later VIN or late build month/year. Also has a plastic liner in the battery tray, not the round rubber grommets, bike is on its 3rd owner, has been in town since new.

wow. and i used to wonder why they're so rare.... this guy probably has 5% of the total supply at this point. what a nut. he grabbed the exhausts off of them an all the longtail flywheel covers.

I mean, probably nobody is gonna keep them ALL and restore them ALL.... i'd assume there'd be a part out involved here, on at least a portion of them.

Why is there no white on the vin tag?

I just looked at my 69 and is has white on the numbers on the tag. On he other hand I have had atleast 3 bikes that had the black like the one in the photos.
