Picked up a 1984 off of ebay that i was able to pick up locally. Im the third owner. Guy i bought it from went through the import process with customs. Bike is titled and plated. Originally purchased in British Columbia, Canada.
Im going to keep it as original as i can. Looking it over it needs a few things. Most of the schematics im sourcing parts from are the 1982 U.S version. Even CMS doesnt list the 83-86 Canada only models.
Seat is more than likely a repro due to the color of the foam on the underside of the seat pan, that and its a 77-78 pattern. Battery wasnt original, but ill run the usual floodlight battery to avoid acid spills. Grips are wrong. Not sure about the mirrors, i know they are supposed to be black, but the nuts are wrong.
Back wheel and tire seems to be original with a 1983 date code. Tire is a trail wing. Angled valve stem.
Front tire and wheel were replaced at some point. Wheel date code is 1980, so it came off an 81 bike. Tire is a IRC.
Front headlight is burnt out, so is taillight. Rectifier tested good, so it think it was ran without a battery at some point.
Ignition switch looks original after seeing the age on the end of the electrical connection inside the bucket. Really notchy on off turn though. Key is an Ilco brand so thats not right. Oem switch isnt available, but i can get one for a passport c70 would just need to change out the terminals.
