Pay close attention to what's going on when "tuning" oil quantity & viscosity. Can't give precise numbers due to individual variations. If you lose excursion (travel range) then you're hydrolocking and need a few CCs less oil.

With the caps removed, the fork bottomed-out you should be able to see the oil...and use that to get the same fill level in both.

Finally just about finished this bike. Instead of tearing down and redoing the black wheels & hubs, I left them intact and installed them on my clone.
I bought and refurbished old used OEM wheels, hubs and brake panels. All new internals on both assemblies. Polished the panels. New sprocket, hardware, RK chain and Trailwings.

Finished refurbing the gold triple tree and used it in place of the one with the black ears. New gold bucket too. A few other small fixes/improvements.

I think the only thing I'm lacking is the lower muffler bracket. I have the parts, but the tab on the muffler isn't lining up.

Here is the bike as of Friday.

With the Gold K0 running good, I decided to tune & freshen up my clone. I had already installed the Black wheels as mentioned in the previous post.

I cleaned the carb and air filter. I changed the oil, on both the engine and forks. Installed a new gold chain, as the original had been welded at the master link by the PO.

Freshened up some of the black painted parts, and gave it a good overall cleaning and polish.

Now its running better than ever.

Could still use a few more cosmetic fixes, but I've started to baby the Gold K0 and use the clone to continue to bash around on, so appearance doesn't need to be that great.

Nice job transforming it into what could pass for a K0 with a later-model front, Chinese engine & headlight.

BTW...the low-mount front fender can made even more effective at keeping the engine clean, with the addition of this inexpensive guard/extension, if that is something which matters to you. Not many of us running this type of fender.
...speaking from firsthand experience.
