K1s occupy the middle ground between the K0, which are made from thicker steel and the later K2-`79 models. Honda went to a two-ply design when they added turn signals. Those are impossible to repair and the turn signals are located in a way that guarantees damage.
As long as all the metal is there, it's usually possible to repair the single-thickness K1 ears. That's the preferred method. It is also possible to have new ones fabbed, without breaking the bank. Getting exact replicas, with every subtle nuance of OEM isn't going to happen. The overall size, shape and location can be replicated. Have both ears replaced as a set and you'll have an invisible repair.
