In my opinion this is a specialized market which ebbs and flows. What are we in now? Probably an ebb. But why is that? Are people afraid the US economy is in for another dumpster diver? Are people afraid that the foreign stock markets are going to dictate what the US stock market does in the near future? Are people wondering "what the f#$@ is going to happen if trump (or insert whoever here) is president"? This is a market driven by people who have more disposal income than most. Let's consider them upper middle class or at the very least right in the middle of middle class. But also recently those who grew up on these bikes now are retiring or getting close to it and say " screw it you only live once I want to feel like I am young again" so they relive their dream.
At the same time there is a younger generation who are interested in older bikes (I have never owned a bike newer than 1985 and most have been late 60s early 70s bikes and that was long before I was born). They will replace some of those who fell off the cliff.
If you are in this for the money then the right time to sell, at least in my area, has about a year ago. And if you need to unload now let me know and I will help the cause.
