I found a 1974 locally for sale. I offered the guy $400. He stuck tough at $500. What do you think?

Missing the gas cap, and needs a kick start replaced. He also said he thought the carb needs some attention (Runs a little rough). He didn't seem to know very much about the bike. Claims to be the second owner.

Here is a pic of the bike. Troy

i paid 50bux for mine.....missing gas tank and such..but what the heck..50bux for the kids to tear up and ride is cheap....i would never pay over 300bux for a z50.....when the kids grow up all you got is a very expensive dust collector talking up space..and it aint like z50's and ct70's are rare...honda made buku bikes....i lusted after one in 1972 right after i lusted after that schwinn 5speed lemon peeler (damn that was a beautiful bike)..i did not get one until i was 44 years of age....

I agree with you to a point......Honda did make buku numbers of CT70's but after 35 + years there aint that many left that haven't been butcherd up to the point it would take a great deal of money to make it right again. I too didn't get the Trail 70 I wanted until my late 40's. A few months ago I started thinking of another thing my folks didn't "give" me that I wanted one Christmas many moons ago. A Schwinn Krate stingray with the shock seat and 5 spoke sprocket and the little wheel in the front and the bitchin shifter. I cant believe how much these little Schwinns sell for now, man. I now realize that the past can only be duplicated with many $$ and fond memories of that past.:bowl:

Thanks for the imput! I am fairly tight with my money, so I passed. There are alot of good deals out there. I'll just wait for another one. Troy

Those all your Schwinns??
That's off the chain COOL!
Saw a Grey Ghost for sale on eBay for a "Buy it Now" of 1800.00 sold in 5 minutes! :39:

Yes, I kinda fell into the schwinn thing and it became an addiction just like the CT70 virus. I have since sold the green stingray coaster that was in the picture. But have the rest.

Darth,

Do you still have the stingrays or is it a past hobby??
I am actually looking for a new winter project, a Z50, a Bonanza mini bike or a Schwinn beach cruiser.
