The New Guy!

Hello everyone! Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Wes! Son of the infamous kirrbby, but wayyy better lookin :44: I started out my riding days at a very young age on a little yellow Z50 which my pops still has to this day! It was the very first bike I've ever ridden on my own and the start of my love for two wheels! My dad got me hooked on these minis a long time ago and recently hooked me up with my 1972 CT70 H with an 88cc big bore in it. Just got it plated and rode it on the street for the first time 3 days ago! If I wasn't fully hooked before, I sure am now! lol Looking forward to gaining all the knowledge I can from all you veterans out there and hopefully I am able to bring something to the table to help all of you as well! Cheers!:Booty:

Welcome to the site that feeds your addiction.

Your dad does have an excellent reputation here and has helped countless people, including myself. If it wasn't for his help here, there would probably be thousands of minitrails still in barns or would have wound up stripped down. We owe him ALOT.lol

If you want to learn, try studying the sections like a college student. It took me nearly a year to go through the archives. The Tech Area, Projects/Builds, and CT70 General sections are good places to start.

Yes he definitely knows his stuff! And I'm sure he is learning even more every day! I've started looking through some of these threads and there is a wealth of knowledge on this site! Truly amazing! The last 5-6 years I have been hyper-focused on building GM LS series motors and GMT 900 (2007-2013) GM trucks. This will be a good change of scenery for me! (and wayyyy less expensive...hopefully :-D) I'm already considering some options to start my first CT build and been tossing around some ideas with the ole man! I want to do something a little different that you don't see often, but nothing I have to be too awful meticulous about for my first build. I'm thinking rat rod with a mini chopper twist. We will see how it goes. If nothing else I will learn a ton in the process and get to spend some good quality time with my pops!

Welcome to inner sanctum, Mr. B. jr (sorry, there's no white cat emoticon :34:). Yep, your ole man is pretty resourceful & generous with his talents. You've also got access to other serious CT70 insanity about an hour to the south of you.:yellow70:

Pretty awesome having your son on here. I don't know if CJ's quote is good or bad- if kirrbby wasn't "helping" there would be more for us to pick up. But on the other hand then I might be in the dog house,so maybe that is a good thing!

Touche' I'll give you that...You definitely have me beat there...for now! :-D

I don't agree with his politics, but Kirrbby has certainly helped me with the FrankenBike, and I'm grateful for his help. Coming to the end of a brutal heat wave here in AZ, gotta get out and water the yards... I'm tryin' to keep plants alive till the blasted monsoon arrives. :red70:
