Vintage Days

I go every year and love it. If you are into vintage track and vintage dirt racing, this is your place. Has a nice swapmeet going on and demo rides where you can take out the latest manufacturer's bikes for a 20 mile road test. That is where I got to ride the the KTM supermoto, the BMW sport bikes, Harley VRod, the Ducati 999 and the Agusta bikes. They take you on the back country roads and let you unwind them a bit. I had that stupid Agusta Bigmota at 100 in second gear. Whew.

Its definitely worth it. I think you can camp there if you want and there are some cheap hotels in the vicinity.

I've attended this event for the last 8 years. It's well worthwhile, a HUGE event. What to expect? Several hours to get through the swap meet alone, provided you walk fast, otherwise a whole day minimum; the widest range of vintage bikes & parts you'll probably ever see in a single location; hot & humid weather, with at least one day of thunderstorms (they always seem to roll in on Friday afternoon) & lots of mud; and...a large number of Z50s & CT70s being ridden. Last year, there were at least 50 of them putting around the grounds.

Don't expect too much in the way of vintage minitrail parts. The quantity & quality have both declined sharply over the past five years. Still, you never know what might turn up:D

Lets do a mini run at Vintage Days

Well, my buddy lives 20 minutes from the event and I used to live very close by as well. We know the area all around very well and know where to ride and eat etc. Let's plan up a mini ride while we are out there.

Last year was my first time and it was excellent!!! at night there is guys who ride around in golf carts with domino's pizza and sell pizza buy the slice or a whole pizza for 10 dollars. Also the ridding is excellent and there is alot to take in. i took my ct70 and cruised around all day throught the swap meet great time!!!!!! you have to go.:monkey:

Well, it's nearly time to head toward scenic Steam Corners, OH. Friday's the first day of the event. Any ideas of where to make contact, once there, without web access?

Last call...I'm headed out there late Thursday and won't be anywhere near a computer for the weekend. Anyone who cares to meet there, speak up now :red70:

In a typical year it's not unusual to see 50 of them putting along throughout the day at this event and that's just on Friday. Of course with four dollar gas this isn't a typical year, just yet. Have to wonder how many of the little bikes will be ridden to the event, not just at it. Oh well, I suppose my red Dax will be pretty easy to spot in that crowd. So those reading without replying can look for the hardcore restomod & Jack Daniels.
