Wing & I are looking forward to this weekend's NFL games, but our picks haven't quite been on the money lately, LOL. Here are the teams we'd like to see win: Chiefs, Packers, Panthers & Broncos. I'd go with the Steelers, but they barely won that last matchup. Wing & I REALLY want to see the Panthers stomp the Seahawks... I can't stand that Carroll putz, and Wing doesn't like teams named after birds. He's a goldurned wild part-Bengal cat and avid bird hunter, what do you expect? LOL.
Well, back to this gray & ugly day here at the ol' hacienda, reckon I'll box up some more stuff as usual. Saw our fifth round of donations out the gate this morning, just a half-dozen boxes of books which needed to be put back in circulation. I'm up to 33 fully-loaded plastic EDCO bins with the paper/magazine/clipping recycling effort, but the end is in sight: another round or two and we'll be done with clearing the house. Friggin' unbelievable, how much of that crap was piled up here, but the task of clearing it is nearly finished.
My sister is driving down here again for a week or ten days or whatever, and more relatives are slated to arrive on Tuesday for the memorial services next week. Meh, at least they're making an effort to show. Once those services are done, I may be able to make that tribute ride I've wanted to do for awhile. I'm long overdue for a serious camping & riding excursion, but this whole death-in-the-family scene has been overwhelming, and everything I've been doing in recent months needed to be done, 10-4???
I'm no enabler either, as far as other family members go, I'm just the man on location who's dealing with the tasks that need to be completed. Getting through the holidays without me beloved mum was tough too, but the holidays are over now and it's time to move forward. Everything's getting done according to plan, the stuff I'm eventually taking with me is being boxed up, the other stuff is being made ready for the estate sale, etc., etc. One fine day, all of this activity will be a thing of the past... only the shining memory of me beloved mum will remain as I dwell in my new home.
