So, I've been exchanging messages with this guy on this bike. 1992 HONDA CT-70 OBO

It has 1983 miles on it, near mint in every way and has a clean title. I don't know the value of the newer ones, but what do you think is the most I should pay for this? I just want some opinions.

Probably never would have guessed I"d ask this question, huh?

Can't recall seeing a 12v model reach the $2K mark, at least since 2002 (didn't really track the later ones back then). Seems like $1500-1800 buys a really nice nice, ultra-low-mileage, example in recent years. IMO, this is a low-mid-miler. This is a really tough one to answer. There aren't many of them extant, so very few of them changing hands...and...the 12v bikes just don't have the collector interest of the earlier, "classic" models. People buy these to ride, so the value range is more compressed than the more typical pre`75 models. Thus, the oversized (they appear to be 120/90 Michelins) tires and aftermarket turn signals, might not have the negative impact if this were, say, a K3.

You're uniquely qualified to judge mechanical condition, once you see this bike firsthand. Assuming that it's as it seems in those 3 tiny pix, I'd estimate ~$1200, maybe a little more, is a fair market value. However, Shipping & titling costs/hassles do matter...together, they could represent as much $700-900, or more, depending upon where a lower-mileage example might be located and how draconian your DMV is. All-in, $1500 might be a near steal, for the potentially smaller, road-ready, bottom line and hoops through which you don't have to jump.

Its the most uncool looking model its all plastic so the bike has a cheap look to it but it has the 12v ele. I would offer what you want to pay. If you love it and really want it and feel its worth $2000 then buy it. I would think closer to $1500 if it is cherry maybe more then.

I have a 93 12 volt Ct..I love this machine. Sure they are a little plain when compaired to the more vintage bikes but with a few added chrome parts here and there they can look really nice. With the low milage and title you won't go wrong spending around 1500....I've had mine for five years and I'm still very happy with it. 019.jpg

Jarred ,
I bought one a few years ago , paid $750 (good buy) w/ 755mi . One just sold on Ebay for $1400 w/383mi . I think $1200 is a fair offer . Good luck .

Heres what I got:

1993 CT70
1985 miles
New updated turn signals...originals in the box
Title
All lights and accessories work fine
Rides and shifts really nice
Left hand control is not original
Needs the center stand adjusted and maybe a new chain. Got too look closer.

I'm planning on doing the following to this:
New chrome fenders (taking from my other bike while I rebuild it)
New takegawa chrome shocks
Remove center stand and put traditional kickstand on it
Maybe add an 88 kit to it...maybe..

Knowing of your other builds , 88's not going to be enough !!! Maybe with a turbo ?
Nice find .

They look much better with the chrome fenders but, chrome handlebars and an engine guard would make it look great.
