 Geez! :61: You bought it hard! What were you thinking? You came into the turn a little too hot and moist? :21: You need some real riding pants. Looks like you could rot out there alone if you don't watch yo azz. Nice scenery.

Thats gotta hurt there SW, but I also know first hand it could have been worse. Every time I get hurt, I realize I'm not 20yrs old anymore.lol.
That really is some nice ridding area you have out there.

Yeah, I got carried away and went into that turn a bit too fast, LOL. I mean I was FLYIN', which of course was the problem: when I hit that "beveled edge" where the road leveled out and veered left, my knobbies either lost contact or lost traction, and I was already banked hard to port, so the tires had no chance to recover. Worse yet, my boot wasn't out to save me, as I was going really fast and I *thought* I had things under control, LOL. That's what thrashed my knee so hard, the direct slam into that stony hard-packed dirt... the rest of the (dirt) road rash I can handle, call it the cost of doing business, 10??? But I still think I could've avoided most of the damage if only I had worn my skate pads, which are large & burly with hard plastic shields. It was that initial hard slam that f/u my left knee, and that sonofab!tch hurt too... as I lay there in pain, I thought about that possibility, being so severely injured that I'd die in the wilderness, but the Rim Road is fairly popular among riders & hunters, so if I were in that situation I'd probably be found, if I didn't die first from my injuries, LOL. Naaah, I just hafta tone it down a bit, and wear safety gear on every ride... like CJ said, I can't ride like I'm 20 and expect to heal like I'm 20, aye? I must admit, I was having fun during the entire ride, right up to the moment where I lost traction and ate $h!t, LOL. I'm gonna try and process that Hero cam footage tonight, there should be some kick@$$ high-speed trail-riding clips in there, and I want to see the spectacular wipeout footage... it might shed some light on just how I bounced during my epic John Wayne combat roll. I'm still not sure how I survived that wicked roll, or how I wound up grinding my helmet into the dirt, LOL. :red70:

You'll like the video clips, I imagine the wipeout footage will be spectacular... the White Mountains and Mogollon Rim Country are awesome, I'm not about to give up riding just because I foolishly pushed the envelope and ATE $H!T BIG-TIME, LOL. This is just a serious wake-up call for me to start wearing safety gear on every ride, 10-4? It'll help to ride with others too, I'm slowly starting to meet other riders in this area, so hopefully in the future I'll have some riding partners to make things a bit safer in case of such crashes, LOL. Anyway, lemme see about extracting that Hero cam footage and editing some decent clips... :red70:

Cool, bring on the footage.
I, myself, do prefer to go out with other riders when I'm out in the middle of nowhere. Until cellphones, it definitely was ALOT better in case of breakdowns.

Cue the tune "Wipeout!!!"

Okay, I FINALLY processed some video clips, the uploading takes forever at Vimeo, but my computers don't seem to get along with other video hosting sites... probably more Windows-related bull$h!t. :35:

Meh, here we go with some funny clips... the numbered titles mean nothing, as I randomly selected footage from various film segments. This ThumpStar pit bike has a 125cc motor, so it has plenty o' power for trail riding. :red70:

Alright, youse monkeybiking heroes & crusty mini demons o' dirt, time for this knucklehaid to chillax... my knee was going off earlier but I rubbed more ointment on it, chomped a few nugs o' chronic, and downed a cold beer (I'm now on my second and the fridge is full o' stubbies). The knee seems to be settling down a tad, I may have done too much on it yesterday, so today I'm gonna stay off it as much as possible... a royal PITA, but I brought it upon myself by NOT wearing those pads and safety gear. I'll never ride anything again without 'em, that's for goddam sure... when I show up for a hot date, I'll be wearing the pads & helmet, 10-4??? :13:

Damn, it has already been a pain-filled week, and this miserable knee ain't backing down yet... hurt like hell this morning, so I grabbed an ice pack and laid back down on my rack. Had a hot bath later, then wrapped the heating pad around the knee for some heat treatment. I must have deeply bruised the bone ends and muscles and whatnot around my knee, I still have this weird swollen "ring bruise" that arcs over the top of my knee, even though the bloody impact scab is below the knee. WTF??? I've been rubbing three different kinds of pain-relieving ointment on the sonofab!tch, including Tiger Balm & Arnica Cream, to no avail... that Tiger Balm usually works wonders, but no dice with this injury. I reckon I jarred my knee so hard, it'll be awhile before I'm back to my usual fun-loving self. I know one thing: I NEVER ride again without full pads, safety gear, helmet, gloves, etc., I don't ever wanna go through this bull$h!t again, LOL. I suppose I should be thankful that I didn't break my freakin' neck in that John Wayne combat roll, even after viewing the crash footage I STILL don't know exactly how I cartwheeled or tumbled through the air and along the ground. I know it F#%G HURT, but that's about it, LOL. Like having some weird "crash amnesia"---not being able to remember the fall, probably because it happened so fast. :30:

Sidewinder you are putting your body to the test. That sounds like some real pain to me. The video footage is cool for sure. Awesome country out there to ride. Hope you heal soon...back to your "fun-loving self" and all that. lol

Your pitbike sounds like it runs great!

Remember, CJ, you & your family are always welcome here, you can even borrow the bikes... just fix whatever ya break, LOL. That rest I had earlier paid off, my knee felt okay enough to get out and water the entire yard. Beautiful afternoon here, with that breeze ratcheting down and the atmospheric temperature just perfect. Yeah, these White Mountains are mighty pretty, and there are thicker forest sections too, with sparse "cedar country" farther out to the north... eventually, it all turns to high desert this side of Holbrook. Off to the east we have higher peaks, that's where the ski & snowboard resorts are and they're only an hour or so away. In between and scattered throughout these White Mtns. are a number of primo mountain lakes, all very beautiful and stocked with fish too, LOL. Across the NM line to the east, the Elk Mtns. rise to something like 13000', and THAT whole mountain paradise isn't far away either... I gotta tell y'all, after living here for just seven or eight months, I don't plan on ever going back to city life, there's just too much outdoor recreation to enjoy here for sportsmen, riders of every kind, simple lovers of nature and wildlife, you name it. :red70:

When I pulled all that web research back on the coast, waiting for the ol' hacienda to sell, I looked at half a dozen different factors or criteria in various states: strength of the local economy, home prices, taxes, demographics, crime, and outdoor recreation opportunities. I thought that Clinton douche was gonna get elected, so it was important for me to be free & clear, be in a place with a robust economy, and have plenty of things to do right near my new home. Show Low has it all, I still can't believe how lucky I was to find this primo forest sanctuary... what amounts to a four-bedroom home for a lousy 53K, LOL. Granted, I sank more money into it, but now it's worth way more than what I originally paid, 10-4? I'm not gonna flip it, though, I love this new home o' mine so much that I intend to plane out and die right here in Show Low... this is the Alamo for me, you understand, I don't plan on ever moving again. And as far as recreation goes, I have enough here in the White Mtns. to keep me busy till the day I die, not to mention Lake Powell right up the scenic back roads, the whole Four Corners area not far away, the Elk Mtns. across the NM line... with primo wilderness in every area. :30:

That's the key to freedom in this Brave New Third World: getting out into the wilderness where you can still do practically anything you want, no lyin' badge bullies or corrupt robed sodomite judges in sight, and GOOD RIDDANCE. Here in Show Low, demographics are good, the town is mostly white and we don't have all the crime and reverse racist bullsh!t associated with lowland ethnics. The Injuns I've met have been totally cool, though they have an ingrained distrust of the white man... can't really blame 'em for that, I'd probably feel the same way in light of historical events. I'm not talking about Casino Indians either, I mean the hardcore Apache who have a spiritual connection to their ancestral mountain home... I feel that spiritual connection myself, it's very powerful here in the wilderness. I've spent most of my recreational life in the field, and I know a cool outdoor venue when I see one. This place is now my physical and spiritual home, as much as Los Coronados used to be my spiritual home off the northern end of Baja... awesome wildlife there too, but too much b.s. involved to get there nowadays. No worries, I'm one of "The Forest People" now, and I'm happy right where I am. CHEERS!!! :common001:

Thanks for the offer SW. I sure WISH I could get out there and do some riddin'. Glad your happy there. I would be too. I was thinking while enjoying/watching your vids that I would definitely pack a pistol for snakes out there.lol. Here in NEA Oklahoma, I've dealt with copperheads and such, but I would NEVER trade it for the city. Where your living looks like freakin' paradise.

"I WANNA BE A COWBOY..."

LOL...

GOT SHELLS??? HOWZABOUT 9MM CARTRIDGES???

IMG_2327.jpg IMG_2326.jpg

I have a feeling that Ol' Tex, the Jurassic Desktop Computer, is in for a hard time later this week, LOL. CJ, those snakes had better get on about their business, otherwise they'll have so many holes through 'em that they'll look like SWISS F#%G CHEESE, 10-4??? LOL... :4:

Had a blast yesterday while partying with friends, just gonna go easy today, knock out some chores and water the yard... the knee is a bit better this morning, but it's still stiff and sore, yeah? "Must wear pads and helmet at all times..." :43:

LOL... :16:

HaHa, RacerX, I actually have a Browning M2 Pistachio Machinegun, bought it at the recent Elks Gun Show, don'tcha know? However, I'm having the devil of a time finding pistachio cartridges large enough for it... these pinner California pistachios just don't cut it, 10-4??? :35:

Go for the "colossal" size pistachio cartridges, they still grow `em in PRC (Peoples Republic of California). Salted will do the most damage. :3:

10-4, Roger that, I'll keep an eye out for 'em... maybe Google 'em and see if I can order 'em online, LOL. Ran a few errands today, and while I was out and around I visited CVS Pharmacy and picked up some lidocaine patches and an elastic bandage for my knee. The bandage will come in handy for our scheduled shooting excursion this week, it'll be nice to have the extra support, LOL. Better leave the elephant rifle at home this time, the recoil would probably jar my knee, aye? The "Riot" shotgun and the Glock should do the trick, though I may hafta fire my friend's .308 and AK-47 once or twice (at Ol' Tex, of course). Cancel my appearance on Jerry Springer, this "shooting therapy" works wonders, LOL. Never was much for whining anyway, flash to my Jerry Springer gig:

[sob] "I WAS TRAUMATIZED BY MY COMPUTER!!!" [sob, snivel, whine] "AND SEXUALLY ABUSED TOO!!!" [snivel, moan] "I'M ALSO A LIBERAL DEMOCRAT... AND MY WELFARE CHECK DIDN'T ARRIVE ON TIME!!!" [sob] :30:

That last line is for OLD CT, I'm sure he'll get a laugh out of it... good OLD CT, can't wait for the day they let him out of prison, then he can jump aboard the Grey Dog and get out here to do some trail riding, LOL. WTF, I'll spring for the round-trip bus ticket, 10-4? Last of the big spenders, don'tcha know??? :red70:

P.S. OLD CT, yer STILL a KNUCKLEHAID, LOL... :llama::llama::llama::llama::llama:

Havin' a blast... LOL.

Went shooting this morning and had a blast, LOL... pun intended. Turned out a cleanup crew hauled off Ol' Tex the Jurassic Desktop Computer, so we had to blast some other targets. I got some good Hero cam footage, I'll probably post it tomorrow, as I'm just taking it easy now and letting my knee recover. Here are some still shots of our excursion, heaps o' fun and heaps o' firepower, LOL.

IMG_2375.jpg IMG_2373.jpg IMG_2376.jpg IMG_2377.jpg IMG_2380.jpg IMG_2382.jpg IMG_2383.jpg IMG_2385.jpg IMG_2386.jpg IMG_2387.jpg IMG_2388.jpg IMG_2389.jpg IMG_2390.jpg IMG_2392.jpg

I like that A-frame, it's out in cedar country, on the way to today's shooting range. Pretty cool little home... but I still like mine, LOL. :4: One hand used that .308 (with scope and bipod) to blow up an exploding target I brought, I have cool video of that, the blast blew apart that cardboard box you see in pieces on the ground. Otherwise, we shot the hell outta that plastic chair and that spinner target... y'all like my geriatric walker setup? LOL. More pics in a moment. :beer_yum:

Okay, here's Round #2 of the shooting pics:

IMG_2393.jpg IMG_2394.jpg IMG_2396.jpg IMG_2397.jpg IMG_2398.jpg IMG_2399.jpg IMG_2401.jpg IMG_2403.jpg IMG_2404.jpg IMG_2405.jpg IMG_2406.jpg IMG_2407.jpg

Fun day overall, now I'm gonna chill out and watch "PROMETHEUS" on my curved screen. :41:

Y'all be good, talk to ya manana... CHEERS!!! :red70:
