Going by your red bike, these photos aren't doing you justice. They're nice photographs, just not showing enough detail to allow seeing the frame as it is, IRL.
As for the distance collar debacle, I'm sure the seller is a decent human being. He did get the merchandise to you quickly, as-described and has responded to your inquiries. He may truly believe what he's telling you. That said, with no offense intended toward anyone...I don't trust a wheel hub assembly with the wrong size distance collar. That's based on the most impartial judge I can think of, the laws of physics. Those inner races should have no side load, with the axle fully torqued. If this were mine, I'd either be at the lathe, or a machine shop, getting a distance collar of the proper length made...if the other collar isn't a direct fit, i.e. the correct length.
